Human growth hormone is a protein of about 22kDa, which exists in different isoforms. It regulates several growth processes mainly by the regulation of the IGF-IGFBP system.
The clinical pathology of the growth hormone (GH) is mainly characterized by a deficiency in childhood and an excess in adult life bestimmt.
The growth hormone ELISA allows the quantiative measurement of GH in serum, urine and cell culture supernatants. The 2nd International Standard (NIBSC 98/574) is used for assay standardization.
Mediagnost offers two GH measuring test systems which are characterized by different analytical sensitivity. The more sensitive E022 is well suited for the measurement of GH in filterpaper samples, cell culture supernatants or urine.
